In response to questions that have been received, the below information highlights Pfizer’s requirements for contracted health care providers who speak at Pfizer-sponsored programs.
Overview: Pfizer continues to actively monitor the COVID-19 virus to mitigate the risk of exposure in the community. To ensure the continued health and safety of our contracted health care providers who present at Pfizer-sponsored speaker programs during the ongoing pandemic, Pfizer generally prefers that speaker programs be conducted in-person only if deemed business essential.
Expectations: If you are presenting in-person at a Pfizer-sponsored speaker program, Pfizer requires that you are fully vaccinated (or have a medical or religious accommodation) and adhering to enhanced safety protocols which may include, but are not limited to, use of PPE and social distancing. Prior to presenting in-person on Pfizer’s behalf, Pfizer recommends you complete a PCR COVID test and only present if the test is negative for COVID 19. Additionally, you have an ongoing duty to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and immediately make Pfizer aware if you have concerns you may be infected. Please note that your in-person participation at a speaker program is at your discretion and Pfizer will attempt to make virtual accommodations, if possible.
In-Office Speaker Program: Pfizer regularly assesses state-level data and advises caution in high-risk areas. Based on evolving state-level data, Pfizer reserves the right to reassess local travel sponsorship/reimbursement and cancel the in-person speaker program and, alternatively, determine if the speaker program can be converted to a virtual presentation. Reimbursement sought for non-refundable, out-of-pocket local travel expenses will be considered but no speaking fees will be paid.
